I enjoyed Wednesday's screening of "The Right to Count" (http://www.therighttocount.com/). I had heard people talk about wanting paper ballots, but it never seemed like an important issue until I saw this documentary.
The film made a good case for the danger of electronic voting machines and processes being tampered with. I was impressed to hear Jimmy Carter saying his team couldn't certify elections in the U.S. The other thing that stuck with me was a man who made the point that it's not hard to use paper ballots and count them by hand in a public way. If we wait a day or two for the results, what does that matter compared to achieving transparency in the process? I found it very convincing.
Thanks for organizing this event. I learned something.
